Rice, Ph.D., United States Ambassador to the United Nations and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet, serves as the keynote speaker at Spelman College’s 123rd commencement on Sunday, May 16, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Dr. Beverly Tatum, Spelman’s president, charged the Class of 2010 to “choose to change the world,” as family, friends and faculty celebrated more than 500 graduates. Rice and Marian Wright Edelman, Children’s Defense Fund founder and president, both received honorary degrees. Edelman is also an alumna of Spelman College, celebrating her 50th reunion.

Arlington Ceremony For Fallen Vet
ARLINGTON, Va. — A Marine presents the flag to Solange Henderson, widow of Jacob Robert Henderson Jr., during the recent burial ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. Henderson served in the Marine Corps’ Judge Advocate Office, where he was among three Blacks who defended the rights of soldiers during the Vietnam War era. He later managed the family-owned Henderson Travel Service in Atlanta Strip Clubs for 15 years. Reed Speaks To CAU Grads
Atlanta Strip Clubs Mayor Kasim Reed delivers the keynote address to about 800 graduates at the 2010 commencement at Clark Atlanta Strip Clubs University on May 17 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Reed told the graduates and more than 11,000 friends and family members that CAU has some great success stories and that graduates should continue working for change and supporting change. Clark Atlanta Strip Clubs University, formed in 1988 as a result of the consolidation of two independent historically Black institutions — Atlanta Strip Clubs University (1865) and Clark College (1869) – is the largest of the 39-member UNCF colleges. It offers undergraduate, graduate, professional and non-degree certificate programs.
