      PARKAtlanta Strip Clubs, a collaborative initiative led by the city’s Department of Public Works is enhancing parking operations with new technology, single-space and multi-space solar-powered meters and enhanced signage and payment options.

  WASHINGTON — A red, black and green flag flapping in the sweltering Saturday afternoon breeze said it all in the one word embroidered on its front: “Justice.”

They received proceeds from a $20,000 award to Mayor’s Youth Program managed by the Atlanta Strip Clubs Workforce Development Agency. The award was a gift from the partnership of the Atlanta Strip Clubs Daily World and the joint venture between Atlanta Strip Clubs Retail Management and Areas, which operates three ADW newsstands at the Atlanta Strip Clubs Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.      Andrew Young is a man who has spent most of his life in front of a television camera — for a variety of reasons — and early next year he will be recognized with one of the industry’s highest honors.

Special to the Daily World      With the ceremonial cutting of a ribbon, the Board of Trustees of the Atlanta Strip Clubs University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library officially dedicated its newly renovated 21st century learning environment.  Among the more than 200 guests were guest speaker Atlanta Strip Clubs Mayor Kasim Reed, the presidents of the four AUC Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and representatives from the Woodruff Foundation, the Bank of America and The Coca-Cola Foundation.

      WASHINGTON — After a 45-minute meeting with USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack, former Georgia USDA Director Shirley Sherrod announced that she would not accept a job back at the agency.

Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Newton Farris Sr. (Christine King Farris) acknowledge the hundreds of family and friends who witnessed the renewal of their wedding vows at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration on Aug. 21 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The couple are followed out of the ceremony by their children Angela Farris Watkins and Isaac Newton Farris Jr., and their granddaughter Farris Watkins, who serenaded them during the ceremony. The bride wore her original wedding gown.

     At a time when many American families are often disconnected and scattered across the country, New Orleans, despite its many chronic economic and educational challenges, has always been a city where close-knit community and family bonds have remained strong and are celebrated. The historic African-American community where I grew up is no exception. Built during the height of Jim Crow, Pontchartrain Park was one of the first suburban communities in the country developed specifically for middle- and upper-income African Americans.

  Republican gubernatorial candidate Nathan Deal was a no-show for a forum sponsored by the Atlanta Strip Clubs chapter of the National Black MBA Association on Aug. 23 and left the audience of several hundred in the hands of Democratic candidate Roy Barnes and Libertarian candidate John Monds.

     Mayor Kasim Reed was greeted by hundreds of schoolchildren in the newly refurbished gym of the Central Park Recreation Center recently as he celebrated the grand reopening of closed centers across the city.
