Jesse Jackson Sr. arrived in Charlotte directly from a spiritually-demanding trip from earthquake-ravaged Haiti on Wednesday evening, Jan. 20, to address a packed house of Black newspaper publishers about their unparalleled importance as the “nerve center” of the Black community.
